Natural gas is supplied from the natural gas line of the urea plant, depending on the required supply pressure. The source gas for the auxiliary boiler is natural gas. This unit is designed for natural gas flashing, filtration and removal of hydrocarbon liquids prior to delivery to users. The Project is located in Gemlik which is a harbuor town of Bursa city bordering the Sea of Marmara in western Turkey.

Scope of works 

Design, Manufacturing  (piping – pressure vessels), Assembling at workshop, Testing (NDT, Hydrotests at workshop)  and Comissioning of Natural Gas Measuring Skid Package with including these sections:

  • ESD Valve Skid;               3” Class 600
  • Knock Out Drum Skid;    3” Class 600

The natural gas is received flowing through a Knock out Drum, which is designed to remove all liquids coming with the natural gas flow.Natural gas Knock Out Drum is designed to remove liquid droplets of size 10μm and higher  with efficiency of 100%.

  • Cartridge Filters Skid;         3” Class 600

After liquid separation by Knock Out Drum, natural gas passes through solid particle filtration cartridge filter. Natural gas filters are designed to achieve 100% solids permeation efficiency with particle sizes of 3 μm and above.

  • Heat Exchangers Skid; 3’’ Class 600

After the filtration, before the pressure reducing valve, to prevent liquid condensation and/or the hydrates formation inside the fuel lines due to the Joule Thompson effect, an electric and a LP stem heat exchangers are foreseen.

  • Metering and Reducing Skid; 3’’ Class 600

After the preheating section the natural gas is received flowing through the meter and pressure reducing sections which has the following equipment:

  • Meter run complete with flow straightener
  • Calibrated flow orifice

– Coalescer filters skid; 6” Class 150

The natural gas before exiting to the auxiliary boiler, flows through the coalescer filter separator to assure a fine degree gas filtration.

Natural Gas Coalescer is designed to remove solid and liquid particles:

  • Solid particles 0.3μm and higher with efficiency of 99.9%
  • Liquid particles 0.3μm and higher with efficiency of 99.9%

– Steam and Condensate skid ; 2’’ Class 150

The LP steam and steam condensate used from the heat exchanger gas/LP steam to heat the process natural gas, are managed by the components installed on the Steam and Condensate skid. 

  • Drain Tank: drain Tank set to collect all drains coming from the natural gas system of 0.6 m3 capacity.
  • Cold Stack: cold stack equipped with flame arrestor complete with rain hood is set to collect all vents coming from the natural gas system.
