Dry gas filters are designed to give high efficiency removal of solid particles from a gas stream, in those cases where conventional separators would be ineffective.

Filtration takes place through a number of filter elements chosen according to the operating conditions, pressure drop and the efficiency required.

The typical efficiency is:

  • Removal on solid particles above 3 microns 100% 100%
  • Removal on particles from 0.5 to 3 microns 99,5% 99,5%

Typical efficiency is:
– 100% removal of solid particles equal and larger than 3 microns;
– 99.5% removal of particles from 0.5 to 3 microns.

Efficiency can be improved in accordance with the filtering media selection.

Dry gas filters can be vertical as well as horizontal and can be equipped with quick opening closure in order to reduce cleaning and maintenance time to a minimum.
Forain dry gas filters may have different kind of applications such as in the gas distribution stations, in compression stations and in the dehydration system.

Reliable and efficient dry gas filters are an essential feature in the protection of critical instruments in petrochemical industries. They have many different applications, including use in gas distribution stations, compression stations and in the dehydration system. Forain dry gas filters are designed to be highly effective in the removal of solid particles from a gas stream, in those cases where conventional separators would be ineffective.

It’s possible for filtering efficiency to be improved in accordance with the filtering media selection.

How do dry gas filters work?

In order to understand why dry gas filters are so important, it’s essential to know how they work. Their task is to remove fine debris from gas, quickly and effectively. Filtration takes place through a number of filter elements chosen according to the operating conditions, pressure drop and the efficiency required.

Cartridges are used in order to ensure that any particles which may be present in the gas remain in the element structure after filtering. The flow of the fluid to be treated passes through the cartridge from the outside to the inside in the standard configuration, but with the cartridges inverted it is also possible to carry out the opposite process.

It’s at this point that all of the solid particles become trapped, removing them from the gas. The purified gas then flows back out through the filter. The entire process is a highly efficient way of ensuring the purity of the gas that is being used in industry. This helps to improve safety and efficiency, as well as protecting the integrity of instruments that are used.

Different types of dry gas filter

Forain dry gas filters are available in horizontal and vertical versions. They can be equipped with quick opening and closure so that the time spent cleaning and maintaining them is reduced to a minimum. This is a big advantage in any industry where time is a valuable commodity.
